The Duquesne men’s basketball team fell Wednesday evening to the Saint Louis Billikens, 85-75.
The Dukes’ Eric Williams Jr. led all scorers with 40 points, sinking seven of his nine 3-point attempts. Williams’ 40 points were a new career high for the sophomore swingman.
Saint Louis senior guard Tramaine Isabell Jr. wasn’t far behind Williams, posting 39 points on 12-25 shooting from the field.
Freshman standout Sincere Carry returned for the Dukes, but mostly struggled offensively. Carry had 13 points but went 1-of-6 from behind the arc.
Duquesne (19-11, 10-7 A-10) will close out its regular season this Saturday at home against the Dayton Flyers (20-10, 12-5 A-10). The Flyers are coming off a blowout victory over La Salle, 70-39.
With Wednesday’s loss, the Dukes are still in the hunt for a double-bye in the Atlantic 10 tournament, although the path just became far more difficult with this loss.
